The commercials focus on From the Farm’s unique brand position as the only frozen potato to be sourced entirely from PEI, known for producing Canada’s best tasting potatoes. Filmed on a farm in PEI early last summer, the spots feature real PEI farmers singing about the quality and taste of PEI potatoes.
“To maintain the authenticity, it was important to use real PEI farmers. At first we wondered, ‘Can we get them to sing?” said Yield Creative Director, Chris Torbay. “But after casting for farmers across the island we found 12 farmers who were not only able to sing but let their real personalities come out in a humorous way. I think their honesty really comes through.”
The commercials are running with two different end lines, chosen from a number of improvised endings shot on the day.
